Combines OK Who saw itIJ

I wasn't @ the same show but saw the massey and gleaner versions in January and they looked very good. The unload system is great, very simple and should be fairly gentle on the crop looks like it should work very well. I never looked real close @ the hinge area but I imagine it's strong enough. I was really impressed with how few hydraulic lines and drives that it had I was afraid it may look similar to some other brands. I am not saying the others don't work it just seems they are trying to out do one another in the complicated department. All the drives are fairly high up but seem as though they are not hard to get at once you are high enough up to get to them, they may want to have a ladder idea similar to lexion on the machine somewhere so you can access anything right there in the feild. The hopper was very clean on the inside not to many spots for hang ups. Service seemed fairly simple from what I saw without trying to do anything, except for the filters under the back of hopper, I realize the needed to put then somewhere but they are on a hose already so I think they could have found a little better spot or at least change their positioning a bit so they are a bit more accesable. I hope the engine compartment stays clean , it looks as if they are channeling the air through it fairly well and most chaff should blow on out with the fan blast. I also thought the entire machine should clean off fairly well and not hold to much junk. We tried 3 other machines this fall and all really seemed to hold alot of chaff and junk all over the place. I wont give it a total thumbs up until I try one first and it needs to perform in multiple crops to get that.

I missed my chance to see the 9895! Could someone explain how this new unloading system worksIJ I have heard many from this forum rave about it's simplicity and capacity. Thanks

I will try to explain the unloader as best I can. Others may chime in here to help me out if I mess up. The swing auger folds out and connects to another much like a grain cart. The auger that connects to the swing auger also drives the swing auger. This second auger that I am talking about travels from the hinge area all the way through the grain tank to the right hand side of the machine at the same slope as the swing auger. The tube of this auger also travels this length too, with only about 1-2 feet of exposed flighting at the end on the right hand side. (So, when the swing auger is folded out, it creates one complete, straight auger traveling from boot to right hand side of grain tank.) Now, one single drag auger exists in the bottom of the tank pulling grain from left to right to feed the "long" auger. It looks to be a very efficient system with a lot of capacity. The grain never has to make that upward climb to get to the swing auger. less hang up in the tank I foresee also.

Hey 8780XP, Thanks for the "very well explained" description of this system; - I think I understand it completely. I guess the only "slight" downfall to this system might be that (I'm assuming) you wouldn't be able to move the unloading auger "fore and aft" in order to top-off a wagon; - you would have to jockey the combine back and forth. Not a big deal; - the simplicity and capacity alone make up for it! Thanks again, MG

I was not there either so I was wondering does the auger have a gate on it to stop the flow of grain at the bottom so in case you can not empty out the bin before the truck or trailer gets full you able to fold the auger back with grain in it without spilling some grain by the auger hingeIJ

I hope I can describe it properly so here it goes. The hopper extends out beyond the hinge at the bottom to catch any grain that comes out when folding back and as it folds a flap folds back with the augur creating a dam effect on the side, not a complete seal all around but should stop grain from flowing out. Now above the hinge point the hopper ends inside and slightly below the hinge as to stop any grain from flowing out of the hopper to the "cath area". The hopper is sealed to the augur tube so the only way for grain to leave is to go down and under the hinge area and then back up and over the side of the "cath area". looks like it should work to me without having seen it work.
