Combines Older Combine Questions

2 years ago I did the same thing you are about to do. I did not have a lot of money to spend so I kept looking at autcion sales and found a 1983 1460 it ahd high hrs but also had a lot of new parts on it. Bought it for 3500 dollars which I thought was stupid cheap, but I think everyone thought the high hrs that it was shot.needless to say I have not had to do any magor repair yet.And it has more than paid for its self in custom work.The Ih line of combines are a simple to work on machine.

I would look for a 1688 or a 1680 because they have never let me down. I have been running a 1688 for 10 years and it is a great machine. so if you come accross a 1688 or 1680 cheap,you might like it. Good luck!!
