The bottom line here is whether or not YOU want this machine..... The thought that goes thru my head in situations like this is the fact that you can't put a price tag on the piece of mind that comes with buying something that ; n1 you like the the looks of(let's be honest, we all have certain astetic requirements) and n2 you know the thing was taken care of so you won't be spending more time looking at the parts lying on your back than you do watching it work.........

Great deal! Not sure what it is worth but I would give $5000 for it for my use here. Worth more or less depending where and the need. Dealer might want $8000 or more but they are getting hard to sell, so few little farmers left here.

The local dealer put us onto this machine. Salesman said he thought we could get it for 3000. And also mentioned the same thing, market for smaller machinery isn't there anymore so in that light it won't hold much value. Turns out he was asking 5k for it. I talked to him last week and talked him down to 4k with just the grain platform. Talked to him last night after a lot of discussion with my dad - there was no way we were not taking both heads. We came to the agreement of 4300 for it, with both heads. HOnestly that's still a little more than what we had to spend, well the "farm's" check book, but i worked it out with this guy that i'll write him a check to to make up the difference. My dad would have a fit if he knew, so this gentleman agreed to not say anthing to the ol'man when we go get it. I didn't mention it's a gear drive. We've been running variable speed over the hydro and have been happy. I'm a little excited, sorry for running on so much.

Do your self a favor, go back several times and look at the detail of the machine components. It is very easy to get excited about the shiny metal. I know from experience. At least look it over 4 times before you decide to buy. You may have found a perfect machineIJ

That sounds like a good deal to me. A nice A430 black corn head alone will bring $2500 where I live.

A Gleaner F is a good machine. We have several of them with the 292GM gas motors and all of them are gear shift. Very simple and fairly reliable. We mostly use ours for specialty crops now since we got a different machine. I'd never go back to a Gleaner after comparing machines today but back when they were built I believe they were the best of the time (Gleaner F). Seems a little high in price but if it's that good of shape and you have a direct need for it, go get it!
