it's a bit more $$$ but if you are doing any kind of beans I would seriously consider an air reel..I've had a Crary on my 520 for the past 5 years and would never go back to a standard reel.

I heard from a guy one time who had run one of them and liked it. I had lost the contact on where to get info. Maybe someone will read this who has tried one and can give us a testomonial. Thanks for info and let us know if find someone with first hand experience. Maybe if you couple up one of these mods to HCC level two reel and tube trick or hump kit and you could get close to job of air reel. Gotta love the air reels but sure would be nice to get rid of the extra moving parts. Thanks again.

I saw it advertized in Farm Industry news, it said the suggestted retail price of a single-eccentric reel shorter than 22 ft was $970 but reels longer than that required a double eccentric and were $1840

We've got an Orbit reel and I am guessing it is pretty comparable to a full fingered auger if not better but the two together would be a great combination. We had one of the 40 Orbit reels in use this fall and a few weeks ago a guy from HCC called me to ask my opinion on it so they are wanting to make sure it's 100% ready before it goes to market. After having one I don't think I'd want to run a head without one unless it had an air reel.

This is our second year with one and I can't find anything bad to say about it. Gleaner is impressed enough with them to sell them through their parts system and my guess is it's just a matter of time before they are an OEM option on most new heads. They might have a slighly higher maintance cost than a regular reel but all they are is a roller running inside a plastic track and from what I've seen on our's I'd expect at least 5,000 acres out of one before they are going to need anything replaced.
