Suggest you block off about 10" at the front of the chaffer to provide more air to the rest of the shoe. this also keeps trash from being forced thru the front of the chaffer. heavy cardboard wired on top of the chaffer will work. This should also allow somewhat wider sieve openings since trash won't fall on the front of it as readily.
