I assume you are in winter wheat in TexasIJ Do you know where your pinch point is setIJ Are you now running large wire concavesIJ

This is a problem I had through the wheat harvest last year. I am getting the combine ready to go to Alva, Oklahoma. Not sure what you mean by Pitch point. With the cover plates I use the large wire concaves.

The concaves are mounted on the right side and float on the left side. The pipe that they mount to can be adjusted laterally to determine which concave bar comes closest to the spinning rotor. This is called the pinch point. I've been told that this setting effects the distribution of material under the rotor, but I've not experimented with it. I would suggest removing the center concave and adjusting the stops so that the rotor makes contact while you spin it by hand. Ideally, the rotor should contact the 7th bar from the left (count from the edge of the concave, not the extension). If this setting is off, break the bolts loose on the right side and adjust it. You will want to do both the front and the back, and level out the concave vertically.

Are your concaves two piece (with extensions) or single pieceIJ If two piece, are your extensions coveredIJ The pinch point is where the rotor comes closest to the concave. You should have the pinch point between the 6:30 to 7 o'clock position looking forward from the rear of the machine.

pinch point is where the crop gets pinched between the concave and rotor on the left side of machine.To be set right middle concave needs to be out so, you can see where the rotor rasp pinches against the concave. The book says which concave bar. Or on the right side their is a draw bolt the book gives the length in inches to set it close. you need small wire concaves on the grates slotted with the adjusting channel half over hole on outside of grate
