Combines P1 Helical Modifications

Taking the bottom separator section helicals out in our N7, together with installing the the pegs in the separator cage gave us very low rotor losses. It went like a cut cat in cereals. Sadly, very tough threshing crops were bad news! We could have got a lot more out of it, and fixed the tough threshing problems if we had known about "hyperising", but this was 20 years ago.

The helicals you are wanting to add are in the green stem kit and they hook the thresher helicals to seperator helicals at either three or four locations. The first P1s we woke up we shimmed all helicals with 1_4" flat iron and the green stem kit along with adding two more discharge paddles. Many guys done just what you said as far as removing helicals from belly of seperator side. Just leaving belly open may reduce losses to where you want and if not you have the option of installing stationary rasp bar or seperator grate may be answer for your crops. We have also installed channel helical kits with great results. I would lean toward the channel kits to add most capacity. Good luck
