Combines Paddle feeder house and corn

Our 860 has paddles in it and we never had any trouble with them in corn.

Had a 750 with paddle feeder house. It fed the corn just fine. It did shell a little, but it was already in the machine. so no loss. Joe

Our experience is that trash tends to build up in front of the feederhouse. Running four paddles on the front shaft helps. You're better off to cut a couple of pieces of heavy angle iron (just a little heavier than the original paddle irons),drill them so that they'll bolt to the mounting blocks, and weld short (just so they clear the bottom of the feederhouse) pegs to them every three or four inches. It clears out the trash and makes a better flow to the cylinder. Good luck!

Do you have this welded peg arrangement on all four positions around the front feederhouse shaft, or do you run the standard paddles on two of the positionsIJ Also does this arrangement help you to feed cereal cropsIJ

Just two of the four positions need to be spiked. Never tried it in cereals, but I have the feeling it would wrap in some conditions. I've always found that two paddles per shaft were plenty if the paddles were properly timed.
