And if you look the Gleaners had hours on them.Course I can bring that Gleaner back to brand new and still have less in it than green.40-60,000 less in list price than a comparable Deere.Sometimes you need to take the green tint glasses off,the world looks different.

I cannot argue with the resale figures. For my money though Gleaner is the best value out there. I would be a fool to say resale does not enter into my decision when purchasing a machine but more importantly to me is durabilty, capacity, longevity and most importantly return on my dollars spent which I get with a Gleaner. Keep in mind that I buy a machine to use for a long time so resale is down the list for me. I have run green, red and silver and the silver is the best built, easiest to work on, highest capacity machine out there. What is killing Gleaner is it's past (early N's and Duetz),lack of dealers and the rapid changes in the ag economy that makes it almost impossible for the little guy to survive. Hey Big Green Underware, like I always say there are alot more dumb people then smart left in this country,And why would you ever even care you wouldnt drive anything other then green. So go back to the Green page and talk about your new released "Bullet Rotor". We have had a rotor since late 70's you have alot of catching up to do Illinois Gleaner

Around here the only sales around are all green. Seems the farmers runnin Green are the one's that are having to sale. While the ones running Gleaners and old Allis's just keep on a farmin'. Makes you wonder...My Gleaner did stall the other day shellin' corn. looked all around didn't see anything. looked in the bin and found a piece of sheet metal that was green and had 9700 on it. Guess he just couldn't keep up and got in the way.

You have to recognize where the auctions took place and what they were selling. The Gleaners were sold in western KS which has been in a drought for several years. I also suspect they were requiring extensive repairs. That would happen if they were run for those hours with minimum maintenance. A good Gleaner would have outsold a Deere on any sale.

The only dealer we have is John Deere and I wouldn't run anything but a Gleaner N series. They are cheap $2000-$10,000 and they are fast once you set them up. We had few break downs and cut 3200 acres winter wheat with two combines. We don't spend any money on combine payments or service calls all you need is service manual and the smart people on this site. Thanks NDAN and the rest for all your help.
