71371019, works fine, will help. I have had customers tell me anything from "well I think I can tell a little difference to 'tremendous difference'. Your results may vary but worth the price. If you don't like it post back and you probably can sell it to someone at a price a little less than new. You will probably have to increase tention on door opening setting.

I've got a question for youIJ Do you really enjoy closing that door every time a slug or some other object, sometimes a stone opens itIJ Smashing your knucles with those two lossy wrenchesIJ When I bought my R-62, I ran it for a month when I read an add about changing the door to a trap. I installed to trap and would never go back, that combine runs all day long with out me having to go and shut those doors with all the dust and the time wasted just because a wad of wheat or beans decided to open the door. I was always worried about wether I had the latch to tight, no more. It seems to feed just fine. This is just my 2 cents guys, I had always run Massey's until this Gleaner, and with the stone trap the only thing I had to stop for was to unload the bin, and if you had heard a stone go in you could empty it then. Where did you get the trapIJ What did it cost and how much time to install. I agree its a pain to close the door. Never knew there was an alternative

There is a hump kit available that was designed by a Gleaner dealer. Email or call Dan at dhurtt@polarcomm.com (701) 894-6363 Hurtt Eqpt. It has a larger hump and does a better job than the OEM one.

Your AGCO dealer should be able to get you the stone trap conversion for your combine or give you information about it. I bought mine in 96' it cost me $119.00, and I installed it myself. It took me about 3 hrs. to put it in, because my combine wasn't predrilled. Supposedly the later models already have the holes drilled, would simplify the installation greatly. I am 59 yrs. old and have run every color combine, except the lexion, and my R-62 is the best one yet, reliable, simple to set up and operate, lots of capacity, but the stone door was ugly. To answer TBRAN; I put one of those on first, trying to make closing the door easier, and it did but you still have to shut the machine down, get out in the dirt and the dust or stand there and wait til it clears, open the shield, get a kisser full of chafe in your face, then close the door, dark age backwards in my humble opinion. Will the hump kit help solve the problem of rear feed chain jumping a cogIJ Has been giving me fits in corn last couple of years. New chains and sprockets on front and rear. Never bothers in soybeans. I put loewen sprockets on (probably a mistake) and they don't appear to ever be timed exactly right no matter how you put them on. After spending over $1,000 on new chains and sprockets last year and still having to get out and pop chain back in place I was ready to put a match to this R-50 and go green or red or something. I have ordered the hump kit and feeder shocks. Will this solve my problem or is there something else that needs to be doneIJ Bars concaves and helicals all in good shape.

You should also install the helical over the corner fo the feeder opening - we finally did this and you wouldn't believe how much smoother your combine will run. We've never had trouble with the rear feeder chain jumping, but others on here have said that installiing the helical will help with feeding. For instructions and pics, click on "Tips" over on the left, then click on "upgrades", then choose upgrades for the P3 rotor. But don't just limit your mod to the helical - do all of the suggested upgrades. You won't be disappointed! Good luck, Tom langan
