Tbran, Should be no problem at all.I assume this is the newer hydraulic clutch style rather than the spring style clutch. If it is the old style I have install instructions from working at local dealer many moons ago.New style only requires four holes drilled and adding misc.drive hardware and hyd. valve to stack. What you want for itIJI want to see if I'm out of price range on mine. I'm with Hyper and should be no problem. If he is going to use the old valve and hoses be sure you get him the fittings between the new motor and his present fittings for I believe his present fittings are a size smaller, maybe not though. I have never installed just the motor for by the time I priced the brackets and sprocket to go with it it was better to just get the whole kit. I would have the old spring clutch but he would be better to go ahead with the newer R series hydralic clutch setup.

Thanks guys! I`m very impressed with your speedy response and that this `Internet' thing could actually be useful! I`m really hoping to find one down here at this stage `cos we have 3 to 4 weeks of harvest to go.My hydraulic motor is fine but the clutch pack is toast.I can get some bits ok but need the hardened boss the bearing runs on ,clutch body and retaining clip. Regarding using an R series unit more details please.I`ll chat with you guys later I`ve been in the N`s cockpit for 14hrs today and Im tired and hungry Cheers!

Tbran, New or old you still need hyd. valve to add to valve stack to operate. As for yours not working,do you mean that it will not operate clutch in reverseIJAre you sure that it is a hyd. problemIJIf this is the old spring style clutch, you may have a spring broke in clutch itself.(Nothing that a $200 bill won't repair.)Or,you may have a key sheared off on output shaft of hyd. motor.($0.50 fix here).

Found a guy that had put some new style reversers on the old machines that had the old style reverser. It bolted right up to old mount. It worked fine but was a little slow so he put the new valve block on also. If you don't want to switch the valve also you could replace the .040" orfice seat with a .062" which would increase the flow to orbit motor. You would need the sprocket for the orbit motor also and it looks like the one from any machine other than the R60-70 w_P3 would do the trick.

just some info to pass on. a customer put new reverser on after 3 springs on old style broke. he used early style valve from old reverser but broke belts when header was engaged after reversing. we figured out old style valves would not release pressure to motor unless you shut off engine and restart. that is why new style valve is installed. didn't have any trouble after this and wonderedhow many times this broke old spring because it was weaker than the belt. hope this helps tom m.

Good point Tom. I suppose that is why the new valve with the pilot operated spool is used. It will drop the pressure quick so the hydralic clutch can come unhooked and head can be re-engaged without waiting for the time delay light to go out.
