I don't like them personally. Too many contradictions about "running them wide open" Do you or don't youIJ Exactly, I haven't figured it out yet. Wish I had a standard sieve for my small grain kit instead of our Peterson Chaffer. Sorry I can't help you, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents out there.

We were closing ours up quite a bit because when we started to open it we were getting more junk in the tank but now that we have had a rain since harvest our fields are coming a little greener than we would like and we don't know where the losses came from. It's really bad in one of our barley fields and it was only doing about 40 bpa so there shouldn't have been overloading. Can't tell now whether it was rotor or cleaning loss because we have a redekop straw chopper so everything gets spread together. likely would have checked it more at the time but we had been doing barley for about a week in the hottest weather we had during harvest and our barley was really itchy while the neighbour across the road said his wasn't itchy. Almost thinking we should have kept our airfoil chaffer when we traded because the dealer would have switched it for us because they were already switching the strawchoppers because we like the redekop for the way that it spreads the chaff.
