Combines Pick of the 9650 s sts

They are pretty much the same capacity as the 2388. My custom cutter runs 3 9650s STS and the wear isn't near as bad as some people on these internet boards claim.

go for the 02 or 03 models, going to a 60 series may not be much more. went thru that this winter and bought 9760's watch for rock damage on the feed acclerator and discharge beater and the rotor elements and chopper knives are 700 bucks the rest of the wear would be like the walker machines, haven't got to run the yet maybe tuesday we will be cutting wheat. You can also buy the extended wear concaves and rotor elements

How much rock damage can u live with and how big a saga is it to replace the feed accleratorIJ Ie are a few small dents acceptableIJ How well does the rock trap work on the sts machinesIJ Our country is uneven and prone to some small gibber rock in areas and no matter how good an operator you are, harvesting chickpea's on the deck, sooner or later your going to pick up some dirt or small rocks or the odd small stick. Would rather a machine without a chopper now. Had one on current machine and just seem heavy on fuel and don't spread as well as the standard hydralic spreaders on the sts machines. What kind of machine did you have before the 9760IJ Are you expecting much of a fuel consumption differenceIJ Most of our harvesting in wheat are at higher speeds (6 mile plus) due to the lighter crops but this also makes the hydrostatics work pretty hard, particularly is softer country so would expect an increase in fuel consumption with a lager machine which is another drawback.

Thats good to hear. Are you happy with the grain samples, grain loss, and the area_hr that he gets from his machinesIJ

I had a chance to compare malt barley samples between a CIH 2388, 3-9650 STS, CIH 1680, and a JD CTS II. There was no difference between any of the samples and they were all excellent. My custom cutter also runs a 9600 with his 3 9650 STS. He hasn't cut for me for some time now but he always stops by every year so I quiz him about his combines plus I have rode with him too. His only complaint is the concaves cost twice as much as a concave for a 9600.

I haven't got to cut with them yet tell you more in a week or so. Was running a 9610 and 9600. The rock damage was from the guy who owned it before me, he said it was from rock in the Dakotas can't tell you what that means. We have ingestion insurance on our machines in case we would run something in them. Where are you located atIJ I knew a few places that had some spreader machines so you need tilt feeder houseIJ I'm in western KS.

I'm in Southern Inland Queensland, Australia so they're probably not much use to me, but thanks anyway. But we have always managed without the tilt fronts, although they would be nice. We use to have a TR85 with their floating 806 front on it before we went green and there are time I wouldn't mind even that style of float on our current machine, particularly cutting out contour banks. They tend to sort the operators out from the cowboys pretty quickly! Have u noticed much difference in capacity going from conventional to rotary, particularly as they are both class 6 machinesIJ

A 9600_9610 will gooble up an STS all day every day with the exception of wet heavy paddocks, horse power is your only gain with a much higher fuel consumption.Wear and unreliability makes the STS avery costly machine over and above puchase price.

Can you expand at all on the wear and unreliabilityIJ And what type of crops those machines were harvesting in to cause that wearIJ

The main crops harvested are sorghum and wheat i have found the STS close to useless in sunflower to which JD have no solution. Wear being concaves worn to the wires in 700 hrs minimal wear on threshing elements causes a huge decrease in capacity,8820 jd can keep up. Numerous other points of wear. As for the unreliability, lets say tens of thousands of dollars and another $12000.00 + to go in before wheat harvest. If you want to know more ring 0427131970 The list of hassles with this machine take pages to cover.
