450 - 500 ohms is what should read between the two wires on the sensor. The voltage is in milli amps and will vary as to speed but with a good VOM it can be measured. IF you have time to do some investigation try this, run a jumper wire set from your engine speed harness to the spreader and then vice versa, see if the light goes out or the tach reads.
