Combines Pix belts

I was wondering myself. I need an unloader belt for my K2, and the Pix price is $20 some dollars less than AGCO. I'll take the chance and buy the Pix belt and see how long it lasts. BTW, Sloan Express sells Goodyear belts for Gleaners. Still a little cheaper than AGCO, but not by as much as Pix. I've had experience with Goodyear belts on other machines, and seem to be just as good as OEM.

I found Pix belts about four years ago, and now use them on our F2's. I really like them.

Why would you want to use PIX.. Is Pix going to have the sprockets you need when they wear outIJ Is pix going to help you get a cleaner sampleIJ Is Pix going to keep bearings in stock for combineIJIJIJ Is Pix going to have filters setting on the shelf for you combineIJIJIJ.. Your local dealer sure could use your support.. I have talked to many people who have both used and sold the PIX belt. The feedback is extremely positive. Cost is one factor but certainly quality ultimately is the deciding factor. PIX offers a one year warranty to the dealer on their belts as I am certain that is tough to match. With regards to your concern that PIX will not be able to support the remainder of the product line, they are backed by the products offered by A and I Products which can be asked for at your local dealer. This will provide even greater savings as you will not only save on your PIX belts but you will also save on your shafts, augers, bearings, pullies, sprockets and many other items.

You bring up a very good point. We seldom appreciate the local dealer until he goes out of business. Then who will loan specialty tools or stock oddball parts to keep a guy going over the weekendIJ In the other hand, aftermarket suppliers offer great service. Most of them give 1-day shipping, which is as good as I can hope for. AGCO will not ship direct to me so I have to waste a couple of hours going to the dealer or wait 2 more days for the dealer to reship the parts to me. Massey offered 1-day parts service to my farm but AGCO discontinued that practice. Too bad!! Tom in MN

I think you were refering to me but said DEAN, And yes I am a dealer, In the panhandlE of texas. THE ONlY GlEANER DEAlER IN THE PANHANDlE OF TEXAS!!!!! We have watched dealership after dealership fall.. we now service Gleaner customer 300 miles away if not further.. Do you not understand the investment it takes to run one of the dealershipsIJ We spend thousands of dollars, on training, special tools, service trucks, parts inventory, upgrading our facillites, all so you can call up and ask "what is the best way for me to get something done" ... FREE ADVISE ... and you go buy your belt from pix.. I can't tell you how many phone calls I get from people overhauling an allis engine and need to know what the tourqe specs are, or what the timming is, and I ask them "where did you get your overhaul kit." And they say "local machine shop" Should I tell them what they want to know or should I send them to the machine shop where they bought the partsIJ Well the next time you want some free advise call the customer service rep at pix and say " I bought a belt from you guys, now I need to know how to remove the main shaft so I can change a bearing"... ARE YOU GETTING THE IDEA YET... OKFARMERIJIJIJIJ Most companies like pix feed of the quick sale with low overhead, No service truck, no special tools, no room full of service manuals, They only want in on the profitable part...the part sale.....

Whoa!!!! Just making a statement here. Not bashing dealers. There is a flip side to your line of thought. I have friends in ownership of dealers and have worked in one myself. I know how it all works. The parts a customer can get elsewhere are priced at a somewhat competative price. The parts that are "dealer" only type stuff is marked up astronomically. Its a fact. I've seen it in more than one dealership. I am also a banker. We finance dealerships. I've seen their balance sheets. Dealers disappearing are either poor management or a poor product line. Dealers should be profitable. If they aren't THEY are doing something wrong. As for the FREE ADVISE as you put it. That goes alond with the sale. You know...service after the sale....it's not a new concept. You give me good service and I give you the next sale. Sorry to be so blunt, but your not being totally rational in your statements. Dealerships aren't impoverished businesses barely getting by. And I REFUSE to pay extra $$$$ out of pity for my dealership.

I have used 2 different ones on my old IH. ground drive and clean fan. ground drive D-173 is ok but don't recommend clean fan pair, not much cord in them. my supplier says they've had good luck. not many things made in India are ideal.
