Combines pixall stalk rolls

I had a set on an old deere head and never lost one gearbox. I will also say if you haven't bought the pixall rolls yet, don't. They did not do much if any stalk chopping at all. In about 2K acres the chrome was worn off the edges and they were not any better at dragging stuff in than the old fluted rolls from deere. Just what happened to me, luckily only on a four row. GS

What do you want to doIJ The only rolls that really cut up the stalks from the point of engagement on up are the knife rolls on a Case IH. They will not cut all the stalks, and if this is what you want get a big shredder and you can really do the job. I personally think the standard fluted rolls on the deere are the best bang_buck by far. I am sure the knife rolls will extract more fuel to run them for, to me at least, no reason whatsoever. GS
