Combines planter vs corn head

I ran a 8 row head when we had a 6 row planter. Then I ran a 8 row head when we had a 12 row planter. I now run a 12 head and 12 row planter. The last is the best but ,all the other combinations worked for me.At least with yours you will only be on a odd middle half the time. Just wandering why did you go to a 16 if you had a 24IJ IG

I am not sure.I believe he told me that the 24row was less productive the what the 16 row would be. See,we also had a 12_24 split row knize bean planter. He traded both of the old planters in on this new 16row planter. He says that all of his data shows that the 12_24 row planter is more productive then the 24row.So for this reason he believes that the 16row will be more productive then the 24 row.

I have been to that place last winter. I looked at and just about bought a R62 from the Deere dealer, that I think came from your place. The owner had the combine at Fairbury out by the racetrack,it had a deere head on it. IG

I have 2 R72's,98 and 99. My dad retired, this last year. I don't think I need 2 R72's for 1700 acres. I bought the 99 R72 after I looked at that 62 up north. I just feel that one R72 with 30ft bean head and 12 row corn head will handle it just fine.I will just keep an auger wagon beside the one combine, besides Dad isnt there everyday now that he is retired,so we are a man short.
