Combines PlEASE HElP pricing a 7720

my partner that owns the 6620 with me is also looking at 7720's. $11k isn't a bad price if it's a solid machine, what are the cylinder bars and concave likeIJ how much life left on the tiresIJ how about paddle chains in the tailings and clean grain elevator. what's the chopper look like. all of these are $500 - $2000 fixes. If all are good then machine is probably worth $11-12k. If something needs replaced, watch out. Our 6620 has only 3400 hrs and we have replaced all belts and paddle chains. Rasp bars will be replaced probably this winter. Hope this helps.

95man Check the augers under the concaves. See if the flighting in them is ok. Also check the gears up front that run the augers are not worn out as well. Far as that's concerned check flighting on all augers. With that many hours if they havn't been replaced they'll be in need. Even if it's only cut wheat it's whole life. look for caked on grease where seals run on the shafts. Possibly grease that's been on there quite a while the dealer can't get completely powerwashed off. That would be a tell tale sign of leaking gear boxes and seals in need of replacement.

Deerebines, The guy who owns the machine has been a good owner-has records of what he has done since he has owned the machine. Has been kept in the shed. What I mean by "good" motor is there is no oil leaks, none burned, hoses look ok, belts ok, the exhaust manifold and turbo housing are still dark red, and not a lighter from excessive heat. Checked the augers -- they have to have been replaced once and the pans are in good shape, auger drive gears and bearings look like they have recently been redone. What does need to be fixed is a leak on the valve body that swings the unloading auger out, and a leak either on the steering or 4wd system underneath the machine.

I wouldn't worry too much about all the stuff the other guys have warned you about, any machine with hours on it will need those things replaced, it is a given. The four wheel drive rear axle, motor, and the hydro are worth more than eleven grand so go forth and smile.

Would you pay 20K for machines with less than 2000 hoursIJ They are available in TX.
