We have had this happen on our 1996 R-62 with 8-row head, but only if the screens are open on the bottom by fan.It will suck in alot of trash in a hurry if left opened.A little can come in by hydro also.Check your fan blades if you have leaves on them ,your sucking trash from somewhere ahead of fan.Could also come from rear feeder door if not closed tight.

|We have this problem also. No cure here. Maybe you have to duct tape all the holes shut around hydro, rock door access,Transmission drive shafts, and such to keep stuff out

We had the same problem. It turned out that either the corn stalks had managed to unlatch and pull back the screen under the combine, or I forgot to lactch it good. I would like to think it was the corn stalks but since it has not happened again, I am forced to conclude it was me.

I had to take some old hammer mill screen and build a screen around the hydro opening in the left side side of the combine. Solved the problem. The tires pick up leaves in certain conditions and the air was drawn in through a 2-4 inch opening.

I have had this problem with an l-2 that I made screens around the trans openings. I also have had it on an R-50 and now on R-62. I don't dump on the go so when I unload I shut down the separator to let the trash fall off of the screen bottom and walla no more problem. If it can get air through the screen it won't try to pull it in around the hydro.
