Combines Poly Floor on Feederhouse

Have'nt tryed the poly, but I did put a stainless floor cover on mine. Has been working perfectly for several years.

Used a poly liner from I believe Mae Wes several years ago. Much cheaper than new bottom from CIH. Had no problems and actually quited the feeder hous a little. Didn't even bother to fis hole in original floor as it wasn't very big.

I have used the poly before and have had trouble aftger a couple of years with dirt getting behind the poly and causing it to hump up. Sheets were warmed before installation, fastened with bolts and glue and also sealed and held in place 24 hours when we had this problem. Wish CASE or someone else produced a metal false floor you could just slide into place. I would highly encourage using the rest of the silencer kit for the feeder house. It does work well and improves feeder chain life.

A decent welding_fab shop should be able to make you a new floor out of heavier material or even abrasion resistant steel for a lot less than a parts from CIH.

I agree with 'shellman'. Dirt buildup under any type bottom replacement will cause "humping". To solve this, cut 1" slits across and near bottom of feeder, first on the left then on the right, overlapping slightly in the middle. This will allow dust, dirt to fall out. I do lots of custom beans and replacing fdr bottom is an annual event. Best I've found is A.B. sheet metal. Steel suppy shears it for me. Tack-weld in just a few places on all sides. Works great and easy and quick to replace (about an hour)!
