Combines poly paddles on clean grain elevIJ

Will, The only comment I've heard regarding poly paddles is maybe an increase in capacity in a high yield crop---ie. a 12 row corn hd in 180-200 bu corn. In 2002 harvest, two brothers in the area with 12 row hds, both 2388's, 1 with, 1 without, I rode with the operator in the poly chain machine and it could travel slightly faster, but before the day was over his chain broke. They had been running in corn for a week or so before it busted. When was the last time you broke that chainIJ The 2388 was new at the start of harvest 2002. Just one opinon for what it's worth.

as i always understood it was you never put more than a couple poly paddles on. reason is there are to aggressive. too many will also crack more grain. they are used mainly in wetter grain to keep the sidewalls clean and to clear elevator from slush back..

My experience is that the poly paddles work very well but they will wear out the elevator housing before the paddles.my opinion is stay with rubber ,the elevator will last longer.

We ran poly, if you over load the elevators(clutches slip) the poly bends. Stay with the rubber.

Poly paddles are nothing more than a performance enhancing device to really make a combine perform in high yielding crops. I have been running these paddles in combines since 1994 with nothing but good results. New Holland has had these paddles as standard equipment in their high end TX, CX, CR combine models. May West sells these elevator chains for most combines as a performance enhancer.

The poly will wear out your elevator housing. Stick with rubber.
