hat kind of chopper is itIJ is it the one with the blades from a cutterbar or is the one with the long loose knifeblades we use in Europe, I have been runing a 1460 with the EU style chopper and that one cruched the straw in very small pieces under every condition, the knifes just need to be sharp.

You can improve the chopping of the OEM choppers by replacing the fixed knives with sickle sections. You can buy a kit but doing it yourself is not very difficult, you might be able to do something similar with your TSR chopper. You may be able to improve the chopping by adding some Estes Disruptes in the grate to stir things up and try to even out the straw going into the chopper. See "attachments" at the left of page. Are the hammers on your chopper sharpenedIJ loewen makes sharpened hammers for some oem choppers.

We run the factory chopper except we replaced the stationary knives with sickle sections. It does a great job for us. look in "Attachments" for Skipper's Straw Chopper Kit.

The TSR chopper has sharp stationary blades and swinging blades on the rotating part. The guy from TSR also said theyve gone to a heavier swinging blade to give them more enertia so that they won't bend back in tough straw. I might be able to retro fit those to mine.
