The lexion 460_465's APS system as definite advantage in popcorn, especially in the normal dry kernal conditions of popcorn during its harvest. The tri-cylinder threshing design supports much slower threshing RPM and greater concave gap, by as much as 30% and 35% respectively, depending on conditions, without sacrificing grain quality due to a concave bottle-neck pinching effect existing on competitive conventional combines. Gradual transition and increase in material flow rate also lend to ensuring grain quality. It's just safe to know that you have that type of flexibility. Be sure to leave the disawning plates (louvered blanking plates) open under the pre-concave and ensure the 19 x 42 mm corn pre-concave grates are installed. Also, in extreme conditions, you might even consider closing off the returns cross-auger (self-contained cover plate under bottom sieve) to ensure that grain is not being returned back to the APS system for re-threshing. The combo of reduced threshing RPM and concave gap possible only from the APS system and proper grates and unique adjustments and settings (i.e. cross auger cover) and finger-tip control for efficient and precise machine settings will allow you to dial in a lexion to a degree more competitive than most.
