Combines power chip

It is a very late 1997(motor ser.n is TO6068H728495 ) I expect it is a nipendenso . All filters on motor are same as 9410. Where do I find the option n's. thanks

I wouldn't chip a already maxed 12.5. Asking for trouble!

According to Mother Deere, that motor is not even started to be maxed out. The local coop dunces bought two 9620 tractors. According to local deere mechanic, who did service work on one of the 9620's, the tractor is set at an amazing 700 horsepower. let's see how long that motor stays togather before the block has a hole in the side like the famous 8870s had a reputation of doing after being power bulged to the max.

deere could learn a lesson from allis on that the 7000 seris only used one engine the 426. In low horse apps they were not bad. In 4wd or high horse 2wd they were overtasked and often would not last. we had a 7580 and a 7045 the 7045 lasted for 20yrs still in good shapewhen we got rid of it the 7580 ten yrs three engines. we have green now a 9400 a little big for use but we aren't trying to pull the guts out of it.

More horses can lead to more repairs, how much more can the main engine gear case takeIJ I've seen piston debonding on a 12.5 and it was not neet. I like more horses like anyone, but scattering parts takes back any time gained in the long run as apposed to pulling back on the hydro handle a bit.

We have been looking for a chip for 9300's and 9400's for a couple of years. Have not had any luck. I don't think anyone makes one.

Be careful powering-up the newer combines and tractors. The old tractors and some of the combines from the 60's-70's were generally over-built and could take a little turning up of the fuel screw without too much harm. The new ones are built just for the factory H.P. and not much more. Parts and labor cost too much today in relation to the income we are getting off the land, so unless you have realy deep pockets, why invite reoubleIJ
