That's about what a local CNH dealer told me. He also said, that the 7010 is cancled, because there is no capacity increase to the 2388. The 2388 will stay in production, hopefully even after all the combine production is moved to Grand Island.
Dakota, I talked to a CIH company guy last week at a AFX 8010 combine demo and the 7010 is not cancled but went back to the drawing board so to speak. It will come back next year changed to get a 30% increase over a 2388 with an AFX rotor before they will release it. They hope to have that done next year. The 2388 with the AFX rotor had a bigger incease in capacity than they was thinking it would. The 2366 and 2388 may be around till 2006. I am sure a 6010 is in the works at sometime. I think the way CNH is doing this is the right way. To put the new rotor in an older combine and also make it an update for anyone is a good deal. They could of just cancled the 2388 and told everyone that a 7010 is your only optionIJ I think they are really testing these things out good because one big screw up and your combine market share is gone. This is the way CNH brings out combines. New Holland was going to bring the CR's out for late 1999 but was not happy with them yet. The TR88_98 was to be the last TR's before the CR's. So they made the TR89_99 for four years so they could bring out a more tested CR. A good move I think. So the 7010 may not be here next year but will at some time. Ilnh
