Electronic pumps and emmissions controls. Turning them up could be a problem.;o( Bin extensions are easy though.

I know it's true for the STS's, not sure about the CR's, but probably. I agree, it really doesn't make sense. Put on factory extensions, bump the HP, and call it a bigger combineIJ Chads

You forgot one thing Chad they then raise the price 21000.00 plus, around here nobody buys the JD9860 all smaller then High H.P. chip and away they go, the 8010 that was traded he went to 9760.

Can you chip the new CumminsIJ I beleive they are using electronically controlled pumps now. I don't know how guys are getting away with the chips. According to CaseIH techs, it's a $10,000 fine to turn up a MX, if the EPA catches you. All you have to do is plug in the laptop and change the settings, if you want to. I've never seen a chip for any ag tractor other than JD. Chads

I am not sure how that works with the law, I know on the cummins moter in older steigers and versatiles and also trucks the cummins dealer for about 500.00 with turn them up, I am not sure on the Magnums on the new 23 combines its the same as always. I have a ford diesel pickup that I chiped at 10000 miles now have 140000 on with no problems and 5 miles to gallon beter milage and lots of power and to install just plug in like a fuse takes about 30 seconds.

If it's still the mechanical pumps on the cummins on the 2377's, I'd say that kind of eliminates some of the problems then, doesn't it;0) Chads

Caught a glimpse of a 2005 2388_2377 operators manual and it appears that pumps are mechanical governed. No electronic controls on fuel system, same as the 2004 2388 models.
