My dealer the other day told us that it would cost $375,000 canadian for a 9650 sts with contour and green star, no duals.. and that didnt include heads

You will never be able to fill an STS with a six row corn head. It is even hard with an 8 row in dry corn. A twelve row makes it real effecient. Be aware that the 2002 models have the new electronic engines, that caused lots of trouble this year and uses more fuel than anything else. A used STS could be almost worn out in one season, depending on hours and crops.

I would seriously consider a CaseIH 2388. These combines don't catch fire as easily as the new STS combines do.

The 2388 might not catch fire as easily but why would u want to have a caseih and crawl across a field in wheat.. When the sts will just keep on going in 100 bu_ac wheat

If the 2388 is to too small, then my next choice would be a new gleaner. I know that machine is a better match capacity-wise and not a fire harzard.
