Combines Problem with header drive clutch 76 l hydro

Tom, My l2 quit like that once. Turns out it was broken spring steel straps that transfer pull from clutch plate to the shaft. Whew! lot cheaper than buying the big magnet and as I recall, not a big deal to change. Ed in MT

OK, thanks for the tip, Ed. I'm just home from the office and going to tear into it. WIll let you know what I find. Hot enough for yaIJ! On another subject, still looking at different combines. What thinks you of a '80 N6, engine has been slowed down, series III feederhouse with SIII 27' head. Hours are somewhat high (2800IJ) on whole machine; clock shows 1335 engine. According to owner thats since engine overhaul. It is the one on Solhiems harvest sale Wednesday. Might consider it, figure it will go cheap. Thanks again! Tom
