Proper maintenance of machinery

Farm machinery is not cheap, and breakdowns are generally expensive to repair. Neglecting to maintain machinery can result from workers lacking the technical know-how, hence getting all operators up to date on maintenance and operation requirements is vital. How often do you lubricate the moving parts? They reduce friction and thus enhance the life expectancy of machinery and parts. However, ensure to use a good quality lubricant and to clear up dirt on the machine beforehand. What other tips can you share?

I like to do walk around checking lug nuts fluids belt or chain tension etc. when equipment running listen noises I haven't heard before see if any different color exhaust happening.

I'm pretty much the same. If something sounds or feels not quite right, I visually inspect, look at the maintenance schedule then do another check.
