I saw a 760 or 860 that was widen out to 70 Inches. This was many many years ago. It was being junked out. They built it by adding 10 inches in the middle front to back. The cab was the same but all of the cross augers and drive shafts were made longer. I bought pieces off of it for my 760. I took the right side of the engine compartment so I have the oil cooler mounted like a 860. They also put the airfilter and the exhaust above and behind the hydraulic oil tank lid. This makes it easier to get to components like the oil cooler fan,hoses,air conditioner pump, etc. This also removes alot of the heat under the engine. The air filter has an inner and outer filter that are both bigger than the original and it makes them very easy to service. I bought other componets from this and other experimental combines as well as newer conventional combines. This experimental combine had a 640 cubic motor in it. At least I belive it was about that size. Didn't perkins make an engine like that for their tractors. It was also turbo charged. The combine had various cutouts for mounting cameras and sensors in it. After they tried it out and experimented with what it could do they removed the concave and cylinder and installed a rotary thresher from front to back. I believe they took over the White combine shortly after that and put all research into that rotary design. My combine is a 1977 MF 760 but I continually updated it to include most features that were introduced in every succeding year. Things like electric hydraulics, automatic reel speed control,Higher Horsepower,left side hydrualic pump drive, center mounted transmission, electric fan and cylinder speed control, etc. etc. etc. I have not yet finished installing reel fore and aft control but I have all of the parts to do so. Anyway the experimental combine was at Schimdts Machine in Upper Sandusky, Ohio but what they and I didn't keep was cut up for scrap.
