I have a question about your 1680. Was it manufactured in the USA. Did you purchase it new or used. Thanks

Not to bust your goat, because with that amount of savings you have to feel good, and I can't believe the Price difference either, but I can get that shaft 192816C1 for $256.50 from worthington or any AandI dealer. I would be interest in knowing if you have JD dealers over there, if you go to the John Deere site they have a place you enter the non John Deere part and it crosses it over to a John Deere n, Since JD owns controlling interest in AandI. To make 192816C1 into a JD part n merely insert an A- in front...A-192816C1 price today $256.76. With Fiat being main owner in CNH you might think they would give you a better deal. Please post back if you can find AandI dealer over there. The hub is also avail thru AandI $202 196482C2 even greaseable.

I was wrong on the price of that hub thru JD it is $189.66, I was just like you paid too much Just replaced a tired Hydro Unit this winter and paid $230 thru another AandI dealer. Sure is odd how competing JD seems to want CNH parts customers. Wonder if this holds true in the UK. Only trouble I run into is AandI stuff sometimes is a little slow thru JD, I seem to get faster service thru the Junkyards who are AandI dealers. All your belts are available and most of the time substantial savings, corn head deck plates half price... goes on and on. As far as I concerned the Strong well survive I guess. Just as well weed out the weaklings...look what happened to MM, Oliver, WHITE, just went down hill when mergers took place.

We bought our 1680E secondhand in May 2000, it was made in the USA to European spec. Basically it is a rice combine with a speciality rotor and a header called the 1030 which is made by Dronnenberg in Europe. We found to stop rotor loss we had to put in Gorden bars, which helped a great deal. The combine was made in 1990 but its first harvest was 1991. I think the old 14 series was made in France, at least the 1420,40 and 60 were the 14and1680 was always made in East Moline.

Thanks for that todd08, I do know that Deere are selling some parts for other makes of tractor, I don't know about combines, I will ask when I am next there, (I get plough parts from them). The UK. price for the hub is over $800.00.Just how can they justify that!! I can't wait to get at some smug salesperson at the next show I'm at, I wish Navistar would buy it back off CNH. I can tell you that tractor sales have plummeted in England as they are now red New Hollands.Mc cormick have taken alot of the old CaseIH sales with the MTX tractor, which is the same as the old MX Maxumm. Our local dealer went with Mc cormick as he couldn't sell the MXM and MXU. As far as I'm concerned the only good things CNH have is the Axial Flow and Magnum, both of which we all know are INTERNATIONAl HARVESTER.- It really annoys me when people call my combine a Case, I am going to put some black tape on the word Case on the side so it becomes what it really is an International. Phew I feel better for that. I am seriously thinking about writing to CNH, I don't think it would do any good though. What does AandI stand for.

I hear you on CNH, I was so mad at them on the Auto-steer issue on a STX accu-steer, they could have been helpful...or they are just plain flat dumb. That tractor has some of the right stuff for the Auto-steer hydraulics, just needed someone willing to share the code so to speak on the computer stuff. But oh well I'm glad I gave the feat up, it can be someone elses problem. AandI has a web site at aiproducts.com OR do a google search AandI Rock Valley, IA. Bought alot of parts from them over the years, and I haven't noticed any inferior stuff. I hear you on the combines...being Interntional, still have 4 out of 6 decaled that way myself.

One other thing I was reflecting, just came from my bank, top loan officer was in there with a neighbor visiting, I stopped in and visited also, neighbor was complaining on how high new equipment is...and that it is so high to repair anything now a days. I told him of your cercumstance here. And that I just bought something from Netherlands for auto-steer because I thought it was so much cheaper than what I would pay in the USA. Am I correct to figure Netherlands to be in UKIJ Funny how we are trading further and further away from home. The ole internet is going to effect us more than I think we anticipate.

todd08, the Netherlands is what was Holland, accross the North Sea from us, we think its a long way, but having flown over the bottom of lake Michigan last summer it isn't that far by your standards. This internet is wonderful because you can get advice and shop around instead of being stuck with your dealer. I mean where in America would I start if I didn't have the net. Also the chat is good. Also the price difference is much more than shipping, which is very reasonable by the milage. Now I'm going to look at the ai website.
