Combines putting shaker back together

just rebushing shaker arms on 2188 installed butterflies on side of combine dealer has specs on installing bushings in arms each arm has a different spec. makes a difference and the number of washers on each arm, we squared our rails on the machine seems to move smoother 1680 is same

I have a parts manual and have installed washers per the book

With Chaffer rails out I measure the width inside combine and compare with the width of chaffer rails (with chaffer bolted in place) This will give an idea of how many washers are needed. Don't try to pull the bushings to the rails or the bushings, shaker pivot will fail prematurely. Inside the combine the bushings should extend the same distance on both sides (so the rails are the same distance from the sides) and SQUARE with the sides of the combine. If the auger bed shaft is twisted one side of the chaffer will be pulled ahead of the other making it bind and cracking the side rails.I push the bushings in so only one washer is needed. Takes time to fit the bushings but with so much variance in width inside combines you space it with washers or take the arm back off and move the bushings in 1_8 inch. Just lookes bad (to me) with a bunch of washers, and its hard to get them in without dropping them (wrap them with tape) Good luck!

I put it back together yesterday and today. When I pressed in the new rubber bushings, I made sure to have them centered in the mount. I then went by the parts book on where to put the washers. Ran it empty today and it felt smooth. I did it on my previous machine the same way and it had 100hrs on the rebuild. when putting the seives back in it did take a little to line the holes up (wide) I will check it all over again tomorrow to make sure something isn't prying
