Kp, I work for a CaseIH dealer in central SD. We have sold over a dozen Quads since they came out in 1997. I have been with them since day 1 at our dealership. The earlier Quads(97_98 models) did have some problems with the tracks cracking out, but by and large, the tracks have held up well for us considering the number of Quads we have out. I think where they had a lot of track trouble is in scraper applications. Our tractors have all been "farmer tractors", so we do not see the extreme use that scraper tractors see. Overall, we have not had many problems with the tracks_undercarriage on the Quads, although we have had some "opportunities" for people like me that work in the service department to keep these units going. We have several customers who have both Cat Challengers and Quadtracs and most will tell you there are advantages_disadvantages to both. Good luck on your choice.
