There is NO WAY that a cornhead can be used for sunflowers. When the snapping rolls pull the stalk down, half or more of your seed would fly out of the head and drop to the ground. There is a short line manufacturer that makes a knife to cut the stalk off before it gets to the rolls. But it is a bit expensive and time consuming to take on and off. And I'm not sure it would work real well anyway.

No! is the absolutely correct answer. I tried last fall and only went a few feet. Perhaps in very dry flowers would the heads snap off, but in anything else it just plugs up. I got enough seeds into the machine to have to clean it but that was all.
