Combines Question for MARV

They are Brent 740's. I've had them for 6 or 7 years. They will each haul 750 bu. of corn when very full, maybe 30 or 40 more if it weighs really good. Probably only 700 of soybeans. The new model is called a 744. Most guys around here have the 640's or 540's. Yeah, they are a little overweight on the roads.

Do you usually pull the pair of them together behind a 2wd tractorIJ We have a 640 and 644 pulled by a 1086 and 5488 but I don't think I'd want to try two 740s without at least MFD. One day this fall I had 726 bushel of corn on our 640 wagon, I wasn't even trying to fill it that full and it was only 59n corn but I double checked the numbers (dumped it at the elevator) so I think it was right.

In the picture Marv has them hooked up to a 2wd it appears , I haul 2 Killbros 400 behind a 1086 and 2 more behind a 5288. If I get these big ones I wouldnt hesitate to at least try it with my 7120. Or is that a terrible ideaIJ Thanks fellas

That picture is a few years old. I pulled them with the 7140 the first year, pulling them out of the field, too. I was stuck a few times and had to split them to get out of the field. The next year I got the 8950 mfwd tractor. That worked a lot better getting out of the field. I still don't want them full in the field if it is a little muddy. I still sometimes pull from the bins to the elevator with the 7140. One just has to use some sense and be a little careful. Don't do it when there's some ice on the roads. That has scared the crap out of me in the past! The brakes on all of the wheels allow them to stop safely. That's a big help.

I pulled 20t of beans with an 8340 Ford. Handled it fin. If you use your head it's no problem. Take care, Nathan
