Hello John. Do you know what type of binders the Amish useIJ A lot of Oats and wheat is cut here for hay too, for horses and for the export market.

Oz, I don't know what kind of binders the Amish use. I would guess they are made by either McCormick-Deering(IH) or John Deere. Maybe JI Case too. I am sure no new binders have been made in over 50 years in the USA. I have a nephew that works with some Amish fellows I could ask him to ask around if it is an important matter.

That I can tell you without asking. John Deere did indeed make binders. The early ones were ground driven and the later and last ones were PTO driven.

Thanks, thats interesting. Those J.D. binders never made it to Aust. I'm sure.I will do some checking to to make sure of that.
