when i bought mine (several years ago) they were about 160US. I use 3 in wheat as stated below, but then I only have 1_2 my concaves with every other wire pulled. Never had heard of pulling them on all concaves before

Wolffman, I will give you a little idea on the installation and removal of cover plates. On the first installation of them it is best to remove the concaves from the machine to place a holding bracket on the right side. The small flat plate that holds the wires in is replaced with this bracket. Second, once you have the bracket on....you remove one of the 3_8" bolts from the left side to hold the cover plate on by the concave extentions. Third, and last you install a 1_4" small "J" bolt that holds the cover plate up in the middle for operation. This J bolt has a wing nut on the bottom and the J part hooks on a wire. Removal is easier than installing. You turn the wing nut loose and have to rotate it a quarter turn to get it off the wire and then you loosen the 3_8" bolt on the left side and remove. There will be thrash in the wires after you remove the cover plates, but it will come out in less than a minute the next time you go harvesting again. Hope this helps. Jack

The new cover plates don't have the hooks and wing nuts. They have a hook made into the bracket and the cover plate to eliminate that. Hook it, put in one bolt per coverplate and go. I'd estimate 15 minutes max for the 3. Chads
