I have driven and rode in about every 4 wheeler_track tractor out there and Massey was about the clumsiest ugliest tractor in my book. We have a 255 MF and it's an okay tractor. One of our White 4-210's has 9,285 hours on it. There are several in our area with 6000-8000 hours on them. Don't tell me they can't put the hours on! The other 4-210 has 2700 hours on it and that's a red stripe. The 4-150 has over 5,000 hours on it and we use it to spray the ground to this day. These tractors are plenty heavy enough to get the job done (especially when they went to planetary gears on the later ones)but the nicest part is they are light enough not to compact the ground. Our neigbor has an old goofy MF 4-wheelers and you can see every track they make the rest of the season! Plus he's putting a clutch in every 2 years. I never had any problems with the 3208, it's powerful and fires right up when it's below freezing. You have to watch for electolysis on these motors is all and make sure the hoses are tight. I've never had a lack of power with them. Obviously people that talk bad about these tractors didn't have much experience with them. The cab is a little smaller, but how many people are supposed to be ridingIJ 1. I did manage to take off the left armrest for the girlfriend though. ;-) You can shim up the mid-section in the later whites, the 4-150 you have to put new parts into it. They are easy to check for play though. You can get these tractors down to straddle 28" rows. Try that with your Massey. Also no goofy "drop boxes", the engine, tranny, and rear end are all lined up. 3 point and pto also nice. ViewIJ Sit in one once and you'll throw your MF away. Once again, I don't have any problems with other brands but before you cut something down, know what you are talking about!!! There is nothing "bulky or ugly on the Whites." My buddy has a IH and that thing is big, ugly, and clumsy. lights are placed nicely on the white, glass is easy to see through and view everything, levers are in a nice place, easy controls and viewing gauges, easy to work on, parts are still available, and they are by far the best big 4-wheel drive at that time and would be today if they come out with them again, instead of that ugly MF 4 wheel drive that (hardly any sold) I personally haven't seen one on a farm!
