Combines questions on concave cover plates

Try putting your wires back in the concaves and installing a bean sieve. Using cover plates is like trading your combine in for the next size smaller machine and who would want to do that!!!!! This works great and you won't be sorry. You can pull every other wire in the back two concaves in corn if you really want to run some fast ground speeds.

thanks for replying, but that's the reason I asked about the cover plates, because I don't wanna have to pull the wires out for corn and put them back in for soybeans. Also I don't wanna switch seives everytime either.

Hello ihman, I have installed the cover plates for the purpose that you are talking about. I have installed 3 of them...2 in front concave, 1 in the 2nd concave, 3rd concave has every other wire out. I too was unhappy with the bean sample with using the corn concave and have this in 2 combines...namely a 1460 and a 1660.
