Combines Questons about the JD 9000 series combines

Ive ran deere for the last 10 years and before that 860 massey, what a mistake that was. I would stick to a walker combine if your looking for good straw, we bale almost every acre here behind my machine. Growers hate rotors, no lie. Straw in a rotor swipes the concave several times round and around before being let loose. Conventional always seems to be more gentle. A good square concave and new bars, with right settings will get perfect straw. Worn components will get some good straw, the rest, almost powderized. Ive ran both desings of machine, and am staying with the walker.

Hope you have a plan when your's wears out and there are no more walker combines made. At least not in Deere.

I don't see the JD walkers going anywhere soon since they are now making a 60 series walker combines. Adam Parsons

They only make the walker in the 9560 model. They plan on eliminating the walker unit within 5 years. I have no idea what Gleaner or Cat plan on doing.

I did and all I see is the 9560, 9560 Sidehill, and 9660. I am under the assumption JD is going to cease manufacture of walkers in the US and import the ones made overseas to here.

Dude read the articles and ask questions. Deere walkers are going to be history a lot sooner then you think.

Kinda funny, don't you thinkIJ How many years ago was it that deere said they would never make a rotary combineIJ Now you say the walkers are going to dissappearIJ I suppose the next comment is that they make the best rotary. Give me a break. I doubt they can accomplish in five years what others have been working on for thirty. Deere is not that progressive.

but it looks to me like they will be the last one standing. Kind of makes all the other stuff moot. gs

No way was I going to say that they have the best rotary. Makes me wish that I would have saved both of the magazine articles that I read where John Deere has stated that the cts (walker) units were going to be out the door in the near future. I know one magazine was succesful farmer. Also if you would look at past posts on here it was one of the topics.
