FR and I could not pick each other out in a crowd....but we farm about 60 miles from each other and know of each others operations..... We both farm in an area dominated by old money and old farming techniques passed on to kids and grandkids who now may be reaching age of 40....these guys now farm some of the time and spend dec-feb playing......Most of july and aug also... Needless to say we do not live in an open minded community and when something new is tried, it is frowned upon......things like no-till, organic farming, even not farming sugar beets is looked at poorly...... Getting to the point...... Im thinking FR is fed up (like me) with guys telling us we are going broke because we do not farm how John deere wants us too......I do not think he was rude, more like giving off a little steem..... Hats off to this guy for trying different things......Cant tell you how many neighbors think red is junk because of rear end in a 560.......I don't even know what a 560 looks like. but aparrently the Hp was too big for the rest of the tractor. As for myself, I have traveled the green road and know for a fact, unlike most (in not all) my neighbors, you will not be more successfull by operating green equipment...... Good luck to you all!

"with guys telling us we are going broke because we do not farm how John deere wants us too" Personally, I think the opposite is probably true. Farm like deere(or about anybody else) wants you to long enough, and you will be broke. Chads

Hey Chads.... Its past my bedtime, wondering if I was unclear in my last post...... Am confused, but I think we are both thinking a guy needs to do what is best for the farm to stay in business......RightIJ Anyway.....how are the goats doingIJ

last I checked JD nor a local dealer tells a customer "how to farm" they do however sale ag equipment that does help make it more efficent to farm. Pretty sure that CNH and AGCO do the same do they notIJ Besides who would take advice from a salesman on how to farmIJ

Nope, you were clear, apparently I wasn't, as I wasn't criticising deere really. There's a whole industry trying to tell us how to farm, and that includes most of the equipment companies, seed companies, finance companies, etc. The last time all these guys got together like this was about the late 70's, hmmmm. Sorry for the confusion.
