What MPH do you notice load on engine and what size head did you say you pushIJ Did you notice increase shoe load or power consumption with reverse barsIJ Do you still have the standard seperator grate you pulled out and if you do can you have it moded per Hyper or Rolfs wayIJ Wouldn't take much to swap them out if you got it ready. Remember that the Hypers are the corn soybean hotroders and they don't accept losses. They like the longer distance between cross bars and that could be just the ticket for your conditions. Wire spacing is still the most important thing that affects separation. Don't want to sound like I know your machine better than you do, but unless Agco 'custom-made' a high wire sep. grate just for you, you don't have the high wire sep. grate because it doesn't exist for the R42 and R52, according to Parts book. It should though. So unless Agco made one, and if they did it should be in production, for you, check your grate, and if you don't see every other wire removed_pulled from the grate, do it and you'll see a huge difference in capacity. Works great in southern ND.

We remove every other wire in low narrow wire seperator grate if custumer has corn and have no problem in wheat if left that way. Many machines have wires raised up flush with cross bars and many have cage material fastened on top of crossbars after all wires are removed. I'm carefull about suggesting cage material on top of grate for the corn boys for it also reduces diameter of cage if grate isn't adjustable plus the massive amount of seeds. If grate is adjustable you can crack it open a bit and stay quite concentric. I have no problem with bringing wires up closer to flush with cross bars especially if grate is adjustable. For the guys with a large portion of crop being corn they likely benifit from cross bars being exposed by something in range of 1_4" as mentioned earlier by Hyper. As Hyper has surely not been afraid of moding a great number of machines to get max out of them in corn and beans I'd never be afraid of listening to them fully in them crops. So if they suggest to cut and move everyother crossbar on the low narrow grate with all wires still in I would go for it If I were lightning. Their idea of less cross bars to help prevent breaking up material to much and more wires to prevent extra trash from getting out may be just the ticket for lightnings condition. lightning has been seeming to have trouble for a long time to get losses where he wants them (no matter what he is accually getting). Don't matter what loss is to me for if custumer wants it better than give him the options. Don't seem as though he has any trouble with power on the 42 for he can go like crazy so go ahead and use more reverse bars or whatever but why not give Hypers idea of seperator grate a try too. I know what you mean about no trouble with loss whatsoever hear in ND and most anywhere else but in lightnings crop and condition he wants it better. Good luck to lightning in getting it.
