on older used machines for many years we have been placing the main lights on a separate relay powered through the big wire going TO the relay. (Can't explain it but some units have problems , some don't. Easier to fix than diagnose.) The switch is now just a trigger for the relay. Use a 30 amp breaker in line w_n10 feed wire to and from breaker to wires unplugged from the switch. When at low idle it takes a load off the relay. And since your breaker failed once, it probably does not have self healing power, get a spare.
