I never lose beans over the shoe of my Hyperized R60. last year I lost some corn at 180 cylinder Rpms but Hyper II suggested raising cylinder speed and losses stopped. Are you overloading the shoe with trashIJ Tom in MN
Here are two things to look for: are your accelerator rolls worn to the point of replacementIJ Do you have any broken sections in the cageIJ Now some comments for you on a Deutz V8: can you idle your engine down to 600-700 so it doesnt break belts and chains when you engage the separator and feederIJ My governor shuts down the engine at anything below about 1050 rpms. Secondly, do you notice oil consumption with a heavy head mountedIJ The engine dipstick is calibrated for a level engine so checking oil level with a corn head attached will show oil about 1 low on the dipstick. It is a mental challenge to run an expensive engine with low oil but thats the way the dipstick is set up. Tom in MN
Don't have the time right now to do a full hyperization but the left side of the shoe does seem a little overloaded. Picking 50 bushel beans with a 20 ft. head at 3.5 to 4mph,concave at 6,rotor at 600 to 650,fan at 5.5 to 6,chaffer at 1_2 to 3_4 inch, sieve at 1_4 to 3_8 inch. Is this about right or am I way off baseIJ Dealer says I go to slow.
I would always run mine with the wind way open and the chaffer at least 3_4 inch, the wider the better. It is true about going fast enough. You should be going at least 4 if not 5 miles to keep her full.
Is your sieve setting from the bookIJ I use a bean screen so I dont remember sieve settings but I seem to remember closer to 1_2 for beans. Are you overloading the chaffer or sieveIJ Threshing in the separator side of your rotor can overload the left side of the shoe. I dont understand your concave setting but if you mean 3_4, try closing it down to do more threshing in the thresher side. Do you have any comments on my idle questionIJ Tom in MN
One thing to check on some machines is that if you have had a small seeds kit in the lower duct and have just folded up, it will disrupted the air flow and allways give a bad sample with a low air setting or if you try to increase the air it will then just blow grain out the back.
Tom, Our R60 has always had the low idle around 600-700 rpms. The high idle has always been according to the book at 2450 rpms, until yesterday. Now suddenly we can only get a max of 2300 rpms with just the engine running, and you know what that means when you kick in the seperator, no power. Is this common to loose the high idle or is something else wrongIJ It was working fine, then yesterday it just lost all power. Any help is much appreciated. Todd
Check your throttle linkage. If I remember correctly, there should be a space between the clevis and cable housing when you are wide open. Check with engine shut off and see manual for reasonably good picture. If you need diesel pump repair, make sure the guy sets it up so you can idle at the speed you want instead of at 2000mph like the manual suggests. Tom in MN
