Sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm truly surprised to hear that if something is under warrenty that another dealer wouldn't fix it. I've seen my local dealer do this many times. Why would "normal Cummins warranty" be longer than AGCOIJ Our local dealer has had good luck with Cummins both for AGCO and other brands of machinery. By the way, have any other dealers moved in that area of IllIJ How about any other AGCO dealers picking up a Gleaner contractIJ

I had the crank go out of my magnum at 1400 hours The dealer had changed hands, but the same people were working there. They didn't cover any of it either. Some days your the pigeon, some days your the windshield

As the prez sez, I feel your pain. let me get this straight, the crankshaft -assume camshaft- in the Bosh fuel injection pump on the Cummims "C" engine brokeIJ Rare. When was the combine purchasedIJ Gleaners carry a two year warr. unlimited hours. Will email you. Most of the time Gleaner subs back to eng, fuel, component mfg for warr or policy adj in special circumstance.

Have you actually talked to AGCO in Duluth, GA or Gleaner in Hesston, KS about your problem or just some dealer. Dealers will blow smoke and avoid problems if they think they can get away with it. I have one here in Iowa that tried that and I went to Duluth, GA via E-mail and was sent to a dealer and got the problem fixed at NO COST as Warranty stated. Come to find out, the dealer didn't want to waste his mechanic on FREE work, or that is the way he viewed it.

I guess I would read my warranty statement, have the date of purchase handy, and call AGCO. Even though it looks like it's out of warranty, and it is a vendor part, it is such an unusual problem they mite "help" you with a policy adjustment. Expect nothing and take what you can get

I agree. If it's a '97 it's probably out of warranty and your dealer and_or AGCO have no obligation to cover the repair. But as the ol' saying goes - "You'll catch more flies with honey with moonshine, er, vineger!" If you call AGCO and ask respectfully, maybe they'll help you out. Best of luck to you- Tom langan

I think your first line of approach should be the dealer. In your case "the dealer = defunct" maybe you should try another dealer that you are familiar with, It would be a good opportunity for them to try and earn your business... After all you are going to need a dealer in future. AGCO will stand behinde a product when it is just out of wwarranty... They did it for me last month.... When they really didn't have to...
