I was wondering way you run NH corn head on your GleanerIJ My uncle has R-52 with hugger corn head and it does OK job. I still have 974 corn head, is 996 that much betterIJ
Check to be sure you have the right belt, ser n's can put a wrong belt on, we had from the factory, 2 belts later, we got smart and got the right belt. Type of header doesn't matter..........make sure in slow speed the belt runs all the way out to top of driven pulley, and not bottom out in drive pulley under platform, floppy belt in this mode indicates wrong belt.
If belt is getting wet from stalk juice you would need to shield it or get stalks knocked down. Spring length is important in torque sensor. Spring works in conjuntion with cams to keep belt at perfect tention. New spring would measure between 4.5" and 4.75. Be sure belt is not bottoming out in rear sheaves where belt would be shining up the pins that lock sheaves together. If new belt has been put on and pins are still being hit I would add a washer between the large hex head of pins and the sheave. That would only be the problem if you are running with varible slowed all the way up. Excessive hard pulling head will demand a lot of power but belt should hold. If you have a '98 or newer HD varible drive you may need a kit that has the hex head put back on pins for rear sheaves if you run with varible slowed up all the way alot of the time.
