Combines R 62 s and edible beans

I run a R-72 in edible beans and it does a wonderful job. Hardened helical bars are a must (black iron ones won't last a day in tough beans) and run cylinder at 4 to 8 depending on chute loss and cracks, @ 250 to 300 rpms, top seive 5_8" and bottom at 3_8 has worked well in pintos and Great Northerns. Run the fan choke at 6 to 7 (as long as they don't get blown out) helps with the dirt. As far as reverse bars, we are not using any this year and are getting along good. Most time we use 2 to 3 reverse bars. The clean elevator slow down kit is nice to save on cracks.

Some claim that feed to cylinder is better with feed chains slowed up. We have best luck with concave close as possible and front section a couple marks tighter to cylinder than mid position. Third helical extention over feeder opening is good. We have installed steep pitch helical kit with a couple extra helicals and shimmed out to help convey the tough straw at such a slow cylinder RPM. I would hope you have the extended bars. We will raise bottom clean grain auger to clear the floor better if slowing up the auger don't do the trick. We have trimed the flighting on bottom auger and bin fill auger to gain auger to tube clearance. We have extended unload auger flighting in bottom of tank to the bushing support to reduce dead area next to ujoint. Good luck.
