The main shaft on our 62 which is a 95'was not the big one we just put it in ours this fall and it was 3800.00 when all said and done because you have to put on some new shieves and belts. Ours has the Duetz motor twin turbo V-8 you wont be dissapointed with that motor this one and the cummins were a option until a few years ago. The 69 after the 62 tells the way the machine is equipped with options from the factory. As for price someone else may have a better guess then me but I would think in the neighbor hood of 50 thousand without heads. One thing I forgot to mention. It says custom harvester special on the front side of grain tank. Does that mean anything important or is that just a marketing thingIJ

Just so you don't get to nervous about mainshaft. We have never had one pulled yet but we learned early on that nut that holds varible on needs to be torqued. That torque holds true all the way back to the first N's and I suppose that is when we learned that the hard way. The torque on that nut not only crimps inner race of bearing to shaft to prevent spinning but it also created one very solid assembly to prevent flexing of shaft. The only thing different about new shaft is the right hand bearing surface is larger to support a larger bearing. Nothing wrong with larger bearing but nut still has to be tight or that bearing could spin on shaft and or shaft could flex. The bearing on the '93 is bigger than the 270hp N7's had in the '80s and them old machines were no trouble as long as the nut was tight. There has been attention brought to this nut many times over the years in school books and service bullitons so hopefully most dealers had checked nut at least once after predelivery.

The custom harvestor means just a few more options like an acre estimator, a weather band radio, and the operators name in the cab although I have never been able to find a name in ours.

OUR DEAlER HAS FOUND OUT THAT THE MAIN SHAFT BEARINGS NEED TO HAVE THE SEAlS CAREFUllY POPED OFF BECAUSE THERE ARE ONlY MINUTE AMOUNTS OF GREASE IN THEM COMMING OUT OF THE BOX. POPED OTHERS AND FOUND THE SAME THING. BEARING COMPANYS WOUlD RATHER SEll BEARINGS THAN BUY GREASE. SHAFTS AREN'T CHEAP EITHER. WE FIll'EM UP WITH GREASE AND SEAl BACK UP BEFORE INSTAllATION.
