yes,it is probably the fuse back at the enginge conpartment. look in the op man electrical section wiring diagram, locate the fuse for the eip and clean the contacts. Had two do this.

He replaced the alternator, voltage went from 11.7 to 12.7 volts, all works now but technicals say it should read 13.2 to 13.6 volts. trban was right but bet Russ has the answer, running so stopping until it quits again. I say it will quit again. Thanks both.

Make sure wire ends are soldered onto main output wire from alternator to starter. Check both ends of wire. All our '03s and '04s were campaigned to install new wire between alternator and starter. It is a very heavy wire and eyelits should be soldered good on these. Your right that voltage should be at least 13.2 or better by time it gets to cab. More like 14 if checked right at alternater. Maybe his voltage has come up once the batterys recharge. Have him check heavy ground wire under cab. It goes from cab to frame near right rear corner. Maybe take it off to clear any paint away and tighten well. Good luck
