Most farmers in my area think that their 9650's are all under powerd. They have all tried to change computer chips to gain power over factory settings. Most guys said that they didn't get the extra capacity that they were hoping for, beacause when they pushed the machine hard they either had shoe loss or rotor loss in corn.

We ran a 9660 for a day with our R72 in beans. Without a doubt the full finger head improves the feeding compared to our 830. We did notice that after dark the JD didn't growl as much as our 72. The 72 is definately simpler in design. The single point hookup on the JD and greenstar are superior to the AGCO hookups and Fieldjoke yield monitor. lots of $$$ for the green paint. We dicided after looking at the Case we probably ought to try a 2388 next fall. It is certainly simpler than the JD.

The green guys around hear are just starting to try the STSs. We rented a '04 R75 to run soybean harvest with a 9750. Both had 30' heads and air reels. All I say is the Gleaner had no problem with the JD. The Gleaner had high wide wire concaves and grate from plant. I installed rock door hump kit. I installed helical over feeder as well as tweaked 2nd and 3rd helical to prevent second pass over concave. I removed all reverse bars and installed rotor sweeps. This is the way we set it up right off the get go in wheat and it run flawlessly. Growling basically disappears in the toughest of conditions. One point hookups for header electrical very simple and working well. Sorry I can't give you more comparison but thought I would point out a couple things that few Gleaners are running with and we are seeing great results with. Have a good one.
